It’s tax time, and not only does Uncle Sam want you… so do scammers
In one tax scam, people are receiving phone calls or emails supposedly from the IRS. They’re fake. If the IRS needed more information to process your return, it wouldn’t email or call you.
Also beware of scams that claim to help get your share of the Economic Stimulus Plan.
And finally, don’t apply for Refund Anticipation Loans through a tax preparer claiming it’s a great way to get your refund fast! It’s actually a loan with an interest rate almost as high as 500 percent!!
