Keep your receipts and original packaging, and be aware that some receipts come with an expiration date. Check the warranty first – If the item is defective, the store may want you to return it to the manufacturer. Go online and check the store’s return policy. Knowing the policy in advance may save you a trip. And finally, Wisconsin laws don’t regulate return policies. A store isn’t required to return a product, unless it’s defective. However, it’s in the store’s best interest to keep its customers happy as one return can lead to another.
