It’s summer – and many homeowners are hearing the knock of door-to-door magazine salespeople. The Better Business Bureau has been receiving a lot of complaints that what these people are actually selling is pure fiction!
Complaints to the BBB usually tell a story about how consumers thought their subscription would help the salesperson pay for college or make a donation to Children’s Hospital. Not true! Some consumers even tell the BBB that they never received their magazines.
So, if you hear the knocks of door-to-door salespeople, here’s how you ensure that your story has a happy ending: Don’t be pressured into buying because you think it’s for “a good cause”; always check with the BBB first before you buy, and remember that you have the right to a 3-day Cooling Off Period.
