BBB has already heard from hundreds of consumers nationwide that may be victims of phishing attempts, due to the massive data breach of thousands of names and email addresses from Dallas-based Epsilon. The company, a third-party marketing service used by high-profile businesses to distribute emails to customers, confirmed the data breach last Friday and explained that the information stolen was limited to names and email addresses. The amount of data stolen is under investigation and has not yet been officially confirmed.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A new email seeking personal information is hitting in boxes around the country and now the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation is warning people not to fall for it. The agency says this is a scam and even sent out alerts to banks.
