Milwaukee, Wis., August 31, 2010 – The Better Business Bureau serving Wisconsin turned 70 years old recently, and had a big party at Milwaukee's beautiful lakefront to celebrate!
The BBB began in 1939 as the Better Business Bureau serving Greater Milwaukee. Today, it’s grown to more than 6,100 accredited business members, serves the entire state of Wisconsin and provides more than one million instances of service to the state's residents. In 2007, it opened its first branch office in Appleton, supported by more than 1,000 accredited businesses in Northeast Wisconsin.
To celebrate, the BBB sponsored Live @ the Lakefront, a music concert series in the outdoor Rotary Amphitheater at Discovery World on Wednesday, August 25th. More than 200 BBB guests enjoyed networking, food and live music from Blueheels, 2010 WAMI Americana Artists of the Year, in a special VIP tent on the shores of Lake Michigan and in the shadow of the Milwaukee skyline. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett sent a proclamation making that day “Better Business Bureau serving Wisconsin Day”.
