Department of Defense Launches New Military Employment Web-Portal

A new web-portal aimed at helping veterans, reserve-component members, their families and wounded warriors land jobs was recently launched, reports the Department of Defense.

The Employer Partnership of the Armed Forces program will make it easier for service members to connect with employers looking for their skills.

Users are able to set up a personal profile and maintain a record of their job searches and search parameters. There is also a resume-builder tool that helps service members create and maintain a working resume. Users can also set up an alert function that notifies them when particular job postings are announced.

Many employers, such as Wal-Mart, General Electric and Proctor and Gamble have already expressed interest in using the portal to employ members of the military.
